Candidates suffer as JKSSB fails to declare selection list of 72 job notifications
Despite clearing mandatory tests months ago, Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB) is yet to declare selection list of the candidates who have appeared against the previous 72 job notifications.
In some cases like the posts of library assistants, candidates said JKSSB has issued even the provisional selection lists but they have yet to be given the appointment orders.
JKSSB had advertised library assistant posts for Education department in 2016. After appearing in all mandatory tests, JKSSB issued the provisional selection list on its website and called us for counseling. Our documents were also scrutinized on 30 January 2018,” said a group of candidates from Kupwara, who didn’t want to be identified.
“But since then we are awaiting our appointment orders. Every time we are told to wait for one more week but nothing happens,” they said.
They also said that they tried to take up matter with the higher ups at JKSSB, but their repeated pleas fell on deaf ears.
Similarly, another group of candidates said they had applied for the post of junior assistant advertised by JKSSB, but despite appearing in examination, they are awaiting their selection list.
The state recruitment agency JKSSB invites applications from eligible candidates for various posts referred by the government to it, and also conducts examinations, besides making selection of the candidates on merit basis.
JKSSB chairman Simrandeep Singh said all the pending selection lists will be issued by the end of July this year. “Yes, there are around 72 lists which are yet to be made public. All these lists will be declared by the end of July,” he said.
